4 large eating apples
1handful mixed granola
1heaped tbs soft brown sugar
2tbs mixed fruit ( raisins)
1 large handful pecans - chopped
25g softened butter
Generous pinch cinnamon
25 g grated dark chocolate
Water
A splash of whisky or brandy
For the sauce :
200g dark chocolate
2tbs golden syrup
75ml milk
80ml double cream
25 g butter
A pinch sea salt
Core the apples scooping out the pips but leave a base so the filling doesn't fall out. In a bowl mix the stuffing ingredients and stuff into the apples. Pour a little water into an oven tin add a splash of whisky and bake in a hot oven 200c 25 - 30 mins until you can easily prick with a fork ( careful not to overcook as they can collapse ) then remove to cool a little .
For the sauce, melt all the ingredients in a bain Marie whisking the butter in last before decanting into a jug and pouring over the apples to serve
