Simple apple Crumble

100g butter

220g flour

50g Demerara sugar

6-8 large apples from the garden

A squeeze of lemon juice

1/2 tsp mixed spice

150g caster sugar

In a bowl rub the butter and flour together to make small fine crumbs. Then add in the Demerara.

Peel core and chop your apples into chunks squeeze a little lemon On top to stop them browning, mix in the sugar and allspice then pour into an oven proof dish. Sprinkle on the crumble mix and bake 200c 35-40mins until golden and fruit is soft. Serve with double cream, warm custard or wherever takes your fancy !
